Subject: Devoted To Encouragement
Acts 2:5 - "And there were dwelling at Jerusalem Jews, devout men, out of every nation under heaven."
1 Timothy 4:13 - "Till I come, give attendance to reading, to exhortation, to doctrine."
1 Timothy 4:15 - "Meditate upon these things; give thyself wholly to them; that thy profiting may appear to all."
The pessimist sees the glass as half empty. The optimist sees the glass as half full. The encourager compliments you on the beautiful glass and how nice and clear the water is in it.
We were all designed to be like the encourager. To see all things with a sense of hope and belief that God is in control. Of course some people have more than others, but as believers this is an area where we should shine because we know things like Romans 8:28 and other verses that show that God is in fact in control and that He's always got our good in mind in everything that He does. Therefore, when we see others in dire circumstances we should be ready to motivate them with a message of encouragement. When we see people hurting, we should be there to aid in relieving the pain and this may only include our physical presence. Nevertheless, we should stand at the ready to encourage and lift others up and that's when we are truly "lights in the world."
Find someone today and encourage them because there's always something good to say. You'll see that it not only motivates them, but it gives you a new outlook on life.
