Subject:  The Right Wrong Turn

Exodus 11:1 - "And the LORD said unto Moses, Yet will I bring one plague more upon Pharaoh, and upon Egypt; afterwards he will let you go hence: when he shall let you go, he shall surely thrust you out hence altogether."

As we meandered through the back roads of Texas trying to find a less traveled passage north, several times we took an exit and wondered if we made the right move.  Afterwards we realized how in every case God made the stop worthwhile.

At one stop, I was upset because my assistant had to use the bathroom and I reluctantly pulled into the gas station as morning traffic began to get heavier and heavier.  While my assistant was waiting in line to use the bathroom, like women often do, she began a conversation with a lady who told of an alternate route we could take and it ended up saving us an hour or more.

Shortly after that first stop, I made what I thought was a wrong turn and headed in a direction opposite the way we wanted.  While on that road we realized that we were headed for a huge traffic jam on the old road and we were able to adjust our route only because we made the wrong turn.

That trip taught us much about how God can lead us through life perfectly.  With Him at the wheel, there are no wrong turns.  Before we left we had no idea of the routes that we would take.  We were totally open to His leading.  I think that I should do that in every area of my life, but so often that's not the case.  I often pull out the map for my life's course and determine which way I want to go and I go that way.  However with God, my map means little.  If He decides that I need to go a different direction, then I'd better take His exit.  What I then think is a wrong turn is the right one and will get me to the destination right on time.

Today, it's not GPS that you need, it's G-O-D who will give you the right directions.
