Subject:  An Honest Report

Acts 6:3 - "Wherefore, brethren, look ye out among you seven men of honest report, full of the Holy Ghost and wisdom, whom we may appoint over this business."

The latest flap in the news these days concerns a report aired on CBS about documents which allegedly show that the President did or did or did not do some things during his National Guard service.  It has climaxed to some extent by the confession of the television network that they didn't properly "authenticate" the documents prior to airing them on nationwide TV and therefore they should not have run the story.

This flap concerned authentication of mere paper documents, but the flap that goes on everyday in the world is the "authentication" of our lives.  The world is searching everyday to find men and women of honest report.  Therefore, they read us and examine what they find in our lives.  If there appears to be some small discrepancy, it gets difficult for them to believe our report.

Today we should examine ourselves and to see if we have a report that is authentic or if we have some discrepancies.  One day we will undergo the "Supreme" authentication so we should make our report true now.
