Subject: Your Best Season
Psalms 1:3 - "And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper."
Last year the San Diego Charges professional football team won 14 games and lost only two during the regular season. However, the fans were really upset at losing in the first playoff game. The owner fired the coach and hired someone else to attempt to improve on the team's performance. Thus far, they've begun the season with 1 win and 3 losses, ensuring that they will not finish as good during the regular season as they did last year. Fans at last week's game began chanting, "Mar-ty, Mar-ty," the name of the fired coach from last year. Yeah sometimes we just don't know how good we have it.
The only thing we can measure for sure is the amount of heart or effort that someone gives. We can not always be perfect in the results of our undertakings, but we can be perfect in effort and heart. When we are, the fruit that God desires shall indeed be produced.
Today, don't spend your life looking back and remembering when it was good or when you had more victories. If you give it your all today, regardless of the outcome, you have won. This is your best season, regardless of your record.
