Subject:  Right Place - Right Time

Ruth 2:3 - "And she went, and came, and gleaned in the field after the reapers:  and her hap was to light on a part of the field belonging unto Boaz, who was of the kindred of Elimelech."

It's amazing how out of all of the possibilities in the world there are for you to be here or to be there, following God puts you in exactly the right place at the right time.  The outstanding story of Ruth, Naomi and Boaz is one that speaks to the awesome providence of God.  It also speaks to how, by our lives, we can set an example that makes people want to follow.  Ruth went with her mother-in-law because of her respect for her lifestyle.  She even goes on to say, "your God will be my God."

While the scripture above says that it was "her hap to light on a part of the field," (translation - as luck would have it), it was in order that God's plan might be worked in the lives of not only them, but His ultimate plan for mankind.  As you will find through further reading, they were direct ancestors of King David from whose line the Christ would follow.

For us, we're not simply sitting in a dead-end job or even sitting at home with no purpose.  If we are seeking God, know that you are in your current situation for His purposes.  He is working out something far greater than we could ever imagine.  Who knows, there could be a great king down the line because of your faithfulness.  It's not luck.  It's all part of God's plan.  He'll ensure that you're in the right place at the right time.
