Subject: Who Is Writing Your Biography?
Romans 5:19 “For as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous.”
With the election drawing near, there have been multiple books written about each Presidential candidate, biographies. Some of them are particularly fond and supportive of the candidate, and some of them are designed to surely place the candidate in a less than favorable light.
I was thinking about the biographies that could be written about my life and I realized that the same could happen with me. I mean I've had a lot of ugly stuff happen in my personal, private and public life. However, that same ugly stuff could be told from a different viewpoint and become a very positive story and book. I've realized that it's not how great or ugly your life is that tells your story, it's all about who is writing the book.
It's great for us as believers to understand that point, because when our story is written, it's written by a God who is not only going to cast us in a favorable light, but in a light that reflects His ultimate goal for us, our sanctification.
The scripture above doesn't say that we are being made righteous, it says that we are "made" righteous by the obedience of one. So we're struggling with all of our issues, but the story that God is writing is one that tells of our ultimate victory of righteousness. His book doesn't even seem to make mention of that long list of sins, disappointments and failures that we all had. Satan would have you believe that the "other" book is being written in order to discourage you about today.
Remember today that if you remember who is writing your biography, it will change the way you view your life and it will give the world a great read also.
