Subject: Growth Or Damage; Pain Is Common
Romans 8:28 - "And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose."
Being a physical fitness buff, I often get questions about injuries related to working out. Sometimes as we discuss what many think is an injury, we find out that it's simply pain from the growth or development of the muscle. However, there are times when it is in fact an injury. I end up prescribing a method by which each person can diagnose their pain and determine whether it is pain from growth or pain associated with an actual injury.
It might be important for us to know whether or not our pain is from growth or injury as it relates to physical fitness, but the beauty of the Christian walk is that whether the pain that happens in our lives is from growth or damage, God works it all into building us into the men and women of God that He wants us to be.
God uses pain to let us know that change is happening. If we were not able to feel pain, there would be no signal for us to continue doing what we're doing if it's good pain from growth or to stop doing what we're doing if it's pain from damage. We need to see that pain is not something to hate or fear, but instead something to recognize and heed so that we can take proper action.
Today don't pray for no pain. Pray for your proper diagnosis of the pain so that you can take the right action relating to it.
