Subject:  Pimp My Life

2 Corinthians 5:17 - "Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new."

You may have heard about it or at some point stumbled across it on your TV.  The show is called, "Pimp My Ride."  It's amazing to see what they do on that show.  They take a broken down, dilapidated automobile and make it, in many cases, look better than new.  The people whose cars have been transformed are simply overwhelmed at the changes that take place.  I've never seen one of them say, "uh could I keep this in my car" or "could you not repaint it?"  They are willing to have their automobiles undergo the total transformation.

We as believers need to realize that this is the story of our lives.  It's how God took our broken down, dilapidated lives and made us completely new.  However, unlike the people who were willing to have their cars "pimped," we still want to cling on to old parts of our lives.  We tend to in many cases want the outside changed, but neglect the things "under the hood" that need fixing.

Today we need to submit ourselves to God, as one show puts it, for an "Extreme Makeover."  That's the change that He makes when we become His, so let's get rid of the old parts.  We're all new.
