Subject: We Don't Walk Like That
2 Corinthians 10:2 - "But I beseech you, that I may not be bold when I am present with that confidence, wherewith I think to be bold against some, which think of us as if we walked according to the flesh."
A member of our church had been going around the community asking for donations in the name of the church. The church knew nothing about it. At our very next assembly, we had to openly address this member and as the verse says, we had to be "bold" against this member. We informed this member that this was not a proper action and that it we didn't do things just because they were good ideas or because they might profit us.
That's what the verse is talking about when it says "which think of us as if we walked according to the flesh." Some people think that human motives is what drives Christians. Therefore they have a problem with Christians when Christians make a bold stand about their faith or about what God has said.
We don't walk according to the flesh. And because we walk according to the Spirit, we're going to have to be bold against those who walk in the flesh, because the flesh and the Spirit are continually at war.
Today whether it's in your church or in your home, stand bold for what you know that God has said and what He is doing in every situation. And if you see someone doing "good things" without the Spirit's leading, let them know, "we don't walk like that."
