Subject: Show Em Hate
2Timothy 4:7 - "I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith:"
During one election season, there was much ado about the effects of the war in Iraq on voters. There have been many calls for us to bring the troops home or simply to get out of the "mess" in Iraq. The president of course believes that Iraq is central to the war on terror, while opponents think that we created the terror problem there. The truth is that both of them are probably correct. Well, how is that?
See the terrorists have always hated us, the United States, and have been willing to show that. However, when we didn't have a war on terror, they could fight us on their timetable. Witness the number of bombings to U.S. interests overseas from 1993, when they bombed our military troops in Saudi Arabia, to 9/11 when they killed our civilians. So what has happened in Iraq is simply that we stirred up the hornet's nest and so we're getting stung as we try to get rid of the "pests."
This is the way it is in our Christian fight as well. See Satan's got a problem with you and really does want to kill you. However, if you don't show your hate for him, he'll take his time hurting you and trying to kill you and sometimes he'll even make you think that he's not so bad after all. But if you show him that you hate him by taking a stand for Christ, then the war is on.
Today, don't cut and run. Fight the good fight against Satan and his demons. Finish the course. Like Iraq, the bad guys want to kill us and don't be deceived, that has always been their desire. Remember, they just don't show you their hate until you show them yours.
