Subject: My Day Is Coming
Psalms 37:7 "Rest in the LORD, and wait patiently for him: fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way, because of the man who bringeth wicked devices to pass."
I heard another one of those prosperity, health and wealth ministers talking the other day about how "today is your day." Of course as a child of God, every day is "your day," but He was saying that now is the time for you to get a hold of your life and take charge and that today "I can't be sick because God has made me well and I can't be poor because God has made me rich" and so on and so on. Now in one sense of course those things are true, but he was speaking in a literal sense and saying that you shouldn't be sick or poor or anything else that we see as negative if you are a believer.
Those type of ministers always remind me of the same guys on TV you see selling gadgets or the next greatest diet for $3.99 or something like that. They tell you that you can have it all and have it right now. The rush sell-job makes me a little uneasy. I prefer the Christ sell-job. Listen what the word says about that one.
"Rest in the Lord and wait patiently for Him." Ah that sounds so refreshing amid the hustle and bustle of everything else in this world. If I simply wait on Him, then my day will come. Today I might be sick, but God is a healer and can make me well and will do so in His time and I believe that. Likewise will He provide me whatever wealth I need to carry out His purposes on His time schedule and not my own or the one that Rev Car Salesman gives me.
In Christ, life gets better and better and my day is always coming when I wait on Him.
