Subject:  If I Can Vote My Beliefs...I Vote For Him

1 Timothy 4:10 “For therefore we both labor and suffer reproach, because we trust in the living God, who is the Savior of all men, specially of those that believe."

The title above came from a California voter regarding a ballot initiative in the state to ban same-sex marriage.  The initiative passed with the people of California overturning an appeal court's recent ruling allowing for homosexual marriage.

Jasmine Jones, the voter who made the quote, said, "I'm not really the type that I wanted to stop people's rights. But I still have my beliefs, and if I can vote my beliefs that's what I'm going to do."  She went on to say, "God doesn't approve it, so I don't approve it.  And I approve of Him."

Other states that had a similar initiative on the ballot, also rejected any form of homosexual marriage.  In every state in the country where this issue has been placed before the voters, gay marriage has been defeated, yet it continues to be favored by judges time after time.  The citizens of this country then have to put the judges back in line with our traditional values.

The beauty of America is that we are allowed to vote our beliefs.  That's good news for believers, because we believe in the absolute truth of Jesus Christ as the Savior of all men, especially them that believe.

While people may have other beliefs about the economy, the war, the energy crisis and so on, when our voting beliefs match up with what God approves or doesn't approve, then we're like Jasmine and we show that we "approve of Him."

Thank God today that regardless of what the rest of the world thinks, we can always vote for Him.
