Subject:  How God Must Feel

Hebrews 11:5 - "By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and was not found, because God had translated him:  for before his translation he had this testimony, that he pleased God."

Can you imagine how great it would be to make God smile?  I mean can you imagine what you've got to do to see Him smile?  I can't imagine it, but I think I caught a fraction of how He must feel when we please Him.

The year was 1998 and Caylah had just turned 2 years old when we returned from Okinawa Japan.  Caylah had been singing for some time and was quite a show-person at a very young age.  Well, a friend told us about the Star Search-like talent contest being held at the Pentagon City Mall in Washington D.C. so we thought, let's let her flaunt her abilities.  Many of the contestants there appeared to be very nervous about the big chance at stardom, but not Caylah, so prior to her performance, we were disappointed to find that you had to be at least 4 years old to compete in this event.  Nevertheless, because of her cuteness, they said that they would allow her to perform her act, which was singing, "You Are My Sunshine."  Several acts had gone before Caylah and you could see the nervousness in each contestant's face.  Soon it was Caylah's turn.  As they made all of the necessary adjustments, they realized the microphone stand would not go as low as needed for this 2 year old.  They then handed Caylah the microphone and whispered to her, ever so softly, "go ahead sweetheart."

Caylah then placed the microphone up to her mouth and bellowed out the first few notes so loudly that the top two floors of the mall, which had a view down into the courtyard, stopped to see who was bellowing out this tune at the top of their lungs.  It's like the entire place froze in time as Caylah sang with all of her might.  She finished to a standing ovation from everyone in the mall and for the next 15 minutes, we tried to walk out of the mall amid the celebrity treatment.  Everyone kept asking, "is this the girl who was singing?"  It was one of the proudest moments a daddy or a mommy could experience and every time I think about it, I think this is how God must feel when we please Him.

The truth of the matter is that we make God smile when we live lives that please Him.  Is your testimony one that please God?  Let's see if we can make Daddy proud.
