Subject: To Understand Dreams
Genesis 41:15 - 16 "And Pharaoh said unto Joseph, I have dreamed a dream, and there is none that can interpret it: and I have heard say of thee, that thou canst understand a dream to interpret it. And Joseph answered Pharaoh, saying, It is not in me: God shall give Pharaoh an answer of peace."
This was a really good bible study in our church meeting last night. It was interesting to see how Joseph lived such a Godly life. Whatever situation he found himself, he was always using his gifts from God and therefore rose to much power and prominence even in a foreign and pagan land. One of the interesting things we realized about ourselves as believers is that even in this world, though it is not our home, we can be of much aid and help to unbelievers.
Pharaoh called for Joseph out of a prison cell because he heard of this great gift that Joseph had. Joseph knew that he had the gift from God and always used it righteously and in this case it prospered the king of Egypt. Joseph interpreted the dream of the king. Why couldn't the king interpret his own dream? Because to understand dreams you must know the "Dream Maker."
God gives us all dreams, but if we don't know Him, we won't know what He's talking about when we have these dreams. That was the case of Pharaoh and that's our case today.
Today, pray that you draw closer to God and he will surely show you the meaning of your dreams, otherwise, you're going to need to find a Joseph.
