Subject:   You Can Tell A Lot About A Person

Psalms 139:23 - "Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts:

I've heard this line quite often in the church, "You can tell a lot about what a person thinks about God by looking at their checkbook."  That line was probably more true when it was first coined, but with the advent of technology, many people don't even use a checkbook, so that line is probably not as true anymore.  I think that we could update that line for the technology now and say that "You can tell a lot about what a person believes by their bookmarks."

When you are browsing the internet, you can save web pages to your bookmarks or as it is called in some browsers, favorites.  You then have quick and ready access to those web pages and don't have to search for them each time.  I thought about this as I looked at my bookmarks.  I noticed that there is a website with the college football TV listing, there is a Christian music site for online radio and then there's the website for my girl's school district, an adoption website and a military veterans page.  I've got more pages bookmarked, but they're all similar to those.  I don't know what they say about me but they do give an indication of the places I feel like I need to remember to go to.

What do you have bookmarked?  Look at it today and think about what it may say about you.  God knows exactly what it says.  It says that you can tell a lot about a person by what they call their "favorites."
