Subject:  Is Our God The LORD? - A National Day Of Prayer

Psalm 33:12 "Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD; and the people whom he hath chosen for his own inheritance."

President Obama when making remarks in Turkey last month said, " We don't consider ourselves a Christian nation or a Jewish nation or a Muslim nation."  I'm not sure if that was political posturing, but for sure if that statement is true, then it is not something we ought to brag about.

The scripture above says that the nation is blessed who claims God as their Lord.  Whatever we say about what our nation is, should make the statement that God is our LORD.  I'm not sure that we have a lot of leaders who want to be that bold and we might not even have a lot of citizens who want to be that bold, but if we want to be blessed as a nation, then that is the requirement.

Today is the National Day of Prayer.  Make sure you check out the website for all of the activities that are happening throughout the day and around the country.  Today we should all pray that we become a nation whose God is the LORD and that those who disagree that we should be that, come to know Him.   Some may be ashamed of it or working against it, but I will say today that if we aren't a Christian nation, we should be and that's what I'm praying on this National Day of Prayer.
