Subject:  Lets Get Moving

Exodus 14:13-15  "And Moses said unto the people, Fear ye not, stand still, and see the salvation of the LORD, which he will shew to you to day: for the Egyptians whom ye have seen to day, ye shall see them again no more for ever. The LORD shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace.  And the LORD said unto Moses, Wherefore criest thou unto me? speak unto the children of Israel, that they go forward:"

We were at an ROTC drill meet competition and my drill team commander was just about to begin assembling the cadets.  She walked up to the judge and began to ask a litany of questions and the judge, finally exhausted, yelled at the cadet to "just get your people moving."

God did that with Moses and sometimes that's what God says to us.  Interestingly enough in the Exodus passage above, God told Moses to "get moving" right after Moses had told the people to "...stand still and see the salvation of the Lord..."  A contemporary version of this scripture would probably sound like this: "And God said, What are you talking to me for Moses, get your people moving."

I think the point of it all today is that while our salvation is always of the Lord, God doesn't want us standing around marveling in our salvation.  He wants us to see that salvation and get moving.  He's got plans that require us to move.  People who sit around resting in their salvation are soon caught by the things/people/situations that He saved us from in the first place.

Today, Pharaoh and his armies are approaching, but our God is mighty to save and He will do it, but lets not just stand still.  While He is fighting off our enemies, lets get moving.
