Subject: Un Dia Sin Dios
Psalms 84:10 - "One day in your courtyards is better than a thousand {anywhere else}. I would rather stand in the entrance to my God's house than live inside wicked people's homes."
One day we saw "Un Dia Sin Imigrantes (A Day Without Immigrants)." This was a boycott by the Hispanic community and its supporters across the country to oppose the current immigration reform bills taking place in Washington D.C. Protesters took to the streets and vowed not to spend any money at businesses and not to go to work to show the U.S. the effect that they have on the economy and our society. Some major businesses, such as Tyson Foods, closed more than a dozen of its 100 plants. Some businesses who rely heavily on day-laborer support lamented how tough it would be to lose one day of productivity.
This all illustrated to me how important one day is and specifically, how important "daily" time with God is. If the impact of losing the support of "people" can affect your livelihood, what about losing God for one day. Imagine what that would be like. What if God decided to take off one day. Of course He doesn't do that, but we do. We often take a day off from God. When we decide that we are too busy too pray, we have taken a day off from God. When we decide that we won't open our bibles today, we have taken a day off from God.
Today think about your daily time with God. Don't you need Him everyday? You can have "Un dia sin imigrantes," but you can't have "un dia sin Dios."
