Subject:  God's Always Got Better

John 1:27 "He it is, who coming after me is preferred before me, whose shoe's latchet I am not worthy to unloose"

When we really begin to grasp the fact that God is in control, then we can always live with a sense that God can make things better than they are right now.

The Principal at my high school began a personal discussion with me the other day about why I had decided to leave the job.  From his view the school is in crisis and as he articulated to me, "he wants more people just like me."  When I told that I would aid in the search for my replacement, he said, "well they better be just like you."  I responded, "Sir, we can find better than me."

Often in life we get to a place where we think we have the best and then God has to shake up our world to show us that He actually can do immeasurably more than we can think of.

When John was baptizing, he made sure the people did not get a sense of worshipping him and thinking that he was "the great one."  People can say great things about you to make you think such.  This is so often the setup to allow pride and arrogance to enter.

Proper perspective says that God's always got better and that I'm not the "end-all."  There is always someone or something better that He is waiting to show us if would take a chance with Him.

Today perhaps you need to let go of what you're holding on to so that God can give you more.  Think about it.
