Subject:  Christianity Fall-out

Deuteronomy 11:25b "...for the LORD your God shall lay the fear of you and the dread of you upon all the land that ye shall tread upon, as he hath said unto you."

While it seemed near the end of his presidency and even now also, that George Bush was hated by many, I wasn't one of those people.  I'm not really caught up in the person of George Bush, but I enjoyed seeing how he frequently upset "the world" with things that he did.  I remember a small controversy when he was first running for President and in a debate with his opponent he was asked, "who has had the most impact on your life?"  Without hesitation he answered, "Jesus."  Yeah they didn't like that one.  Then there was the whole Iraq war thing.  In one briefing prior to the war, he intimated that this was something he "prayed" about and "they" got upset that he was saying that God told him to go to war.

Well the President that the "world" loves to hate has been out of office since January and there is still fall-out from his Christianity.

Yesterday the Pentagon said that it would stop including bible verses on the front of the Daily Intelligence Report.  The bible quotes were placed on the report to support President Bush as he prepared for the Iraq War and then continued on afterwards.  The separation of church and state people are upset that this was taking place and now have another reason to hate the  former President.

These kinds of things always make me smile because the world just does what it does and Christians just keep doing what they do.  God placed us here to inject ourselves into the culture.  It doesn't mean that they are going to accept us and they don't have to, but regardless of that, there will always be fall-out from us (Christians) having been there.

It's like the verse above says, the people are paranoid about us.  Anytime we infer that God is our power and that Jesus is the way, they react as though they've been hit by an atomic bomb.  Well it's not radioactive fall-out they're having to deal with.  That is the residual hazard from a nuclear explosion.  No it's something much more explosive than that.  Our fall-out is the residual "hazard" from believers walking in the Light.  And when that light hits the world, there is always Christianity Fall-out.  You should be causing some today.
