Subject:  Faith Haters

Luke 4:23a "But as then he that was born after the flesh persecuted him that was born after the Spirit, even so it is now."

The whole Miss California pageant flap illustrates one point rather clearly.  If you stand on your faith, you will be persecuted by those who have none.

As I'm sure most everyone knows by now, Miss California, Carrie Prejean, made "controversial statements" during the Miss USA pageant when asked, "what do you think about gay marriage?"  She answered that marriage should be between a man and a woman.  That statement of her belief set off a firestorm among "liberal-minded," or as I would call them "faith-hating" people, because the reality is that not only do most Americans agree with her, so too does the President, Vice-President, Secretary of State and millions of people.  So why the vicious attacks on Miss Prejean?  I think that she exposed her faith/Christianity.

I think the world can take us believing differently on most issues as long as it's just our opinion, but if they find out that you believe it because Jesus/God said it, then they take on a totally different attitude.  That's what I think happened with the pageant flap.  None of those people went after the President when he said that he believes marriage should be between a man and a woman and of course he didn't tie it to his Christianity.  I'm sure that if he had used his faith as his defense for the position, he would have set off the same firestorm that Miss California faced.

Bottom line; "he that was born after the flesh persecuted him that was born after the Spirit, even so it is now."  You can decide why you will be persecuted today.  If you walk in the Spirit, know that those who have been born after the flesh will be "Faith-Haters" so standby.
