Subject: Putting Kings in Check
1 Chronicles 16:20-22 "And when they went from nation to nation, and from one kingdom to another people; He suffered no man to do them wrong: yea, he reproved kings for their sakes, Saying, touch not mine anointed, and do my prophets no harm."
And you're worried about the next election, your boss, your neighbor, your spouse or the person who mistreated you last.
I couldn't help but notice out of this obscure passage, how God has simply "got our backs" as believers. My wife and I were driving along the road on Friday and we had a scripture CD playing in the car and I had to hit rewind when I heard this. Just last week I wrote a devotional about how we need to "get over it" concerning which candidate would take the White House in the next presidential election. So this one follows that up and tells us why we need to get over it.
Of particular note in this passage is the point where God says, "He reproved kings for their sakes." Here He is talking about the children of Israel, but today you should understand that He will do the same for you. You are His anointed and the President or any other king anywhere in the world is subject to our God who has all things working out for our good and His glory.
Today you are protected from all harm because God even puts the kings in check on your behalf.
