Subject: Working On His Stuff?
Ephesians 2:10 "For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them."
Ah the changes of life. I can't believe that we've been in March Madness for a couple of weeks now and I haven't seen one game. For those who don't know, March Madness is the NCAA basketball tournament that takes place this time every year. It will eventually lead to the crowning of the National Champion.
It used to be that when it came to college football or basketball I was always at the ready. I would spend countless hours and sometimes entire days in front of the television getting physically, emotionally and intellectually involved in the games. I was fully into it. Then the change of life came. Change is good.
Tomorrow I've got a men's meeting at our church to talk about addictions and most every other weekend coming up I've got a church function or an activity with my cadets at school. My entire weekend calendar is booked through May. How did that happen? I guess you could say I got a life. It's a different kind of March Madness. My schedule is now more booked with activities that in the end will bring glory to God. These are the works that He created for us to do.
As we grow in Christ, our priorities change. Hopefully you will be able to look back at your life and see growth in your priorities. I still enjoy watching sporting events on television and I still do when I can, but now given the choice or the requirement to do something more substantive and meaningful, I can more readily choose that latter option and while I never have enough time to get it all done, that's okay. God will always give us enough time for the work He wants done, it's just a matter of whether or not we're working on His stuff or other stuff.
