Subject:  A Fight To Get In To

Luke 21:12-13 "But before all these, they shall lay their hands on you, and persecute you, delivering you up to the synagogues, and into prisons, being brought before kings and rulers for my name's sake.  And it shall turn to you for a testimony."

I loved my tour of duty in Iraq.  As I deemed it, "it was a fight worth fighting for."  I saw another good fight the other day and I wish it was a fight that I had started.  In Nevada in 2006, the valedictorian, Brittany McComb, at Foothill H.S., gave her valedictory address where she veered off of her school-approved script and began to talk about her faith in Jesus Christ.  School administrators immediately cut off her microphone and people began booing for them to turn it back on.  Ms McComb immediately filed a first amendment lawsuit.

Last Friday the Ninth Circuit Court or should I say the "infamous" Ninth Circuit Court dismissed the case.  This clears the way for those representing Ms McCombs to appeal to The Supreme Court.  What a great fight to get into.  Imagine that.  You're fighting against an institution that refused to allow you to talk about your faith in Jesus Christ.  How could you possibly lose?  That's a win all the way around.

Isn't it really crazy though, which is what we can expect from this world; that I can stand up and talk about the influence of some famous man or woman on my life and that's okay, but if I say that Jesus has been the pivotal influence in my life, they want to silence me.  Who would really want to silence that?  Uhhmmmmm Satan?

Well it's one of those fights I wish I had started and it's a good one to get into.  Truly, a fight worth fighting for.  Join the fight today.  Talk about Jesus and what He's done for you.
