Subject:  The Case Against Race

Luke 10:33 "But a certain Samaritan, as he journeyed, came where he was: and when he saw him, he had compassion on him."

I'm amazed that people don't see this more clearly after all we've been through on the issue of race.  In Illinois a couple is doing what they call, The Ebony Experiment.  In the experiment they have decided that they will spend one year buying only from "black-owned" businesses.  Here is what they expect (taken from their website): "Black businesses grow. Black professionals, too.  Black households and communities are economically empowered.  The Black community shows the world the true value and strength of Black business, Black talent, and the Black consumer and investor dollar."  That statement sounds like the insecure child who has grown up with so many issues that they have to "show" people that they are somebody.

Does anyone remember how America got into this racism crisis in the first place?  Yes it was because some people thought that they would exclude or include people on the basis of race.  Now we need an experiment to see how that works for some group?  I think most of us can tell you how it will work.  It will make that group "proud" of their efforts and what they have done and it will create a gap between that group and all others that it has excluded.  That is the reason we "all" decided to get rid of race-based solutions and integrate and judge people by character rather than skin color.  People get a life or better yet, get Jesus.

Race is the last thing that we need to use as a solution to our socio-economic problems.  We address all races when we decide that all underserved communities need help.  After all, the Good Samaritan could've passed the guy beaten and robbed because he wasn't of the same race, but he was more into help than who he helped.  That is the case against race.  What are you more into?
