Subject:  There Is No Pride In Sin

Zephaniah 3:11 "In that day shalt thou not be ashamed for all thy doings, wherein thou hast transgressed against me: for then I will take away out of the midst of thee them that rejoice in thy pride, and thou shalt no more be haughty because of my holy mountain."

Last month the administration/White House downplayed the National Day of Prayer citing it as a private time that people should honor.  In the past this had become a really big day for Christians to rally to the cause of prayer in our country.  Well "change" has indeed happened and while it is necessary for us to support authority, we can not and should not endorse "wrong."  Witness this article on how President Obama "Declares June LBGT pride month."  Remarkable.  In case you're confused on the abbreviation, it stands for Lesbian, Bisexual, Gay, Transgender."  Yes and somehow some people think that there should be pride in that.

As the article goes on to say, the President "lauded them for their determination and dedication."   Determined and dedicated sinners?  Most of us were.  Now we, as real believers, are simply repentant sinners, hating the sin in which we formerly lived.  I know I do.

There should be no pride in sin and while it's probably not politically correct to talk about gays and homosexuality and the like as sin in our world today, it is just that.

The prophet Zephaniah said that one day people would stand ashamed at all of their doings.  For those of us who know Christ, that has already happened.  We are no longer prideful of our doings that are contrary to God's word.  For those who still have pride in contrariness to God's word, the day is coming.

God's plan is that we all come to His holy mountain and see how great and holy He is.  When we do, we see how we have transgressed Him and are humbled by all of our sin.

Today let us continue to pray that our leaders see that there is no pride in sin and while they have been ordained to rule by God, they have been ordained to rule in righteousness.  Having pride in sin is not righteousness.
