Subject: Get My Worship Out Of The Way
Psalm 29:2 "Give unto the LORD the glory due unto his name; worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness."
I remember belonging to a church many years ago that started multiple worship services on Sunday mornings. They had to begin early with an 8 o'clock service in order to get all of the services finished early in the afternoon. I remember some of the members remarking how they liked to go to the early morning service so that they would be done for the day and still have a lot of the Sunday left for other things. I don't think that sentiment is what the scripture above means when it says "worship Him in the beauty of holiness."
Think about it right now. Is worship something that we're trying to get done so that we can move on to the other things on our "to do" list or is everything that we are doing built around our worship of the LORD?
If we are going to give the LORD the glory He is due, then it is going to require that we enter into worship with the right attitude. That attitude is not where we are merely trying to get our worship done with, but where we're in a continual state of worship so we're not eager to end it and move on to anything else. When we get there, then we'll see the beauty of holiness. Worship now!
