Subject: To The Cheater, Everyone Cheats
Psalms 7:8 - King James Version
The LORD shall judge the people: judge me, O LORD, according to my righteousness, and according to mine integrity that is in me.
Proverbs 11:3 - King James Version
The integrity of the upright shall guide them: but the perverseness of transgressors shall destroy them."
Lying, cheating, conniving, stealing... What kind of people are you? That was the question on my mind as I dealt with a number of people after my recent car accident. The sheriff who showed up talked to me about the options for removal of my demolished automobile saying that it had to be removed from the roadway, but the tow driver could take it to anyplace that I wanted, but the tow driver would determine the price. I began talking to the tow driver and immediately got that uneasy feeling as though God was saying, "look out here." He went through several stories about why he couldn't take it down the road to my house, finally saying it was against the law and that there was only one place he was allowed to take it. Of course shortly thereafter he agreed to take it somewhere else. Not feeling like the battle at that time, he agreed to pull the vehicle around to the parking lot so that I could get some personal items out of it. He never showed up. I finally had to track the vehicle down and it wasn't in the one place where he said that it had to go. I talked to the lady at this salvage yard on the phone and she seemed as deceitful as the tow-truck driver. I told them that I wanted to get my personal things and she began to immediately tell me that I'd better not try to steal anything out of my own car and that we'll have people watching you. That was when I thought, "what kind of people are you?"
This world is full of people who have no regard for integrity and truth in their dealings. The sad part about that is that this is the world that they create for themselves and everyone that they deal with. To a crook, everyone is a crook. To a cheater, everyone cheats. And in the end, it all catches up to them. As the scripture says, "their perverseness destroys them."
When I arrived at the salvage yard and met the lady that I had talked to on the phone I prayed, "may the Lord deal with you according to your dealings." As I was leaving the salvage yard, after I had retrieved a few personal items from my vehicle, one of the "watchful eyes" working in the lot ran up to the front office to tell the lady that "the tow-truck driver had stolen a gun from under the seat" of some other vehicle out in the lot. The Lord shall judge the people according to their integrity.
