Subject:  The Solution Or Many Solutions

Job 32:8-9  "But there is a spirit in man: and the inspiration of the Almighty giveth them understandingGreat men are not always wise: neither do the aged understand judgment."

I've been awake since 2 A.M. working on the computer to get this printing problem fixed.  In actuality I spent the first couple of hours listening to music from those artists that I told you about yesterday.  Our laser printer has worked fine for a long time and it suddenly stopped working a few weeks ago.  Of course I could've called Maestro and he could have given me the answer easily, but it was 2 A.M.  At any rate, I tried google to find a few websites to see if they could tell me what was going on with it and I noticed something funny as I checked.  A lot of people had the answer to my problem, but few people knew what caused it.  I tried many things that supposedly worked well for the people suggesting it, but their solutions didn't work for me.  It wasn't until I found a website where one guy told me everything, from what caused the problem all the way to the steps needed to fix it, that I finally resolved the problem.

Many of us go through life the same way.  We don't always want to know what's causing the problem, we just want the solution.  When we do that, we always find ourselves going through many solutions, because the real solution must first address the real problem.  We often think that the solution to our problems is the quick fix, which stops the pain, the hurt or the bad situation in which we find ourselves.  However, our God often has steps for us to go through if we are to address the real problem.

God deals with all of our issues this way.  He wants us to address the root cause of our problems and that so often entails sin.

The story of Job was one that carried a lot of people giving solutions to Job's problem, but they were all wrong and Elihu comes along and passes the words above to us.  They are good words because they talk about how we get the understanding necessary to address our issues. (Read the whole chapter (32).  It's a good message)

Today start looking for the root cause of your problem.  Address that and you will forever fix your problem.  But I guess this would be the way to do it if you want to fix your problem.  Perhaps you simply want one of many solutions.
