Subject:  Would You Like Fries With Your McSin?

1 Corinthians 10:27-28 "If any of them that believe not bid you to a feast, and ye be disposed to go; whatsoever is set before you, eat, asking no question for conscience sake.  But if any man say unto you, this is offered in sacrifice unto idols, eat not for his sake that shewed it, and for conscience sake: for the earth is the Lord's, and the fulness thereof."

A McDonald's spokesman, recently told The Washington Post, that "Christians and others who oppose homosexual marriage are motivated by hate."  In a television ad, a separate official stated that McDonald's is "a company that actively demonstrates its commitment to the gay and lesbian community."  Whatever happened to businesses simply trying to make money by putting out the best product?

Of course I've never been a big fan of McDonald's food anyway, except for their fries so it will be quite easy for me to join the boycott that is being waged against them by The American Family Association.  I'll ask you to do the same, but this highlights a very important point that we as believers would do well to heed.  That point is for us to know that every time we spend a dollar, we're not only buying a product, we've made an offering to God or we haven't.  It may seem far-fetched and as the scripture above says, you don't have to ask if the burger you're eating is to support some sin or idol, but when you know that it is, don't eat it or don't buy it.

McDonald's has shown that it clearly wants you to contribute to their war against God's order.  To define the Christian view as hate simply reinforces their anti-God viewpoint.

Beginning today, as one person said, I'm McGone from McDonalds.  They used to sell happy meals and fries, but today they're selling you McSin.  Don't buy it and boycott them today.
