Subject: Change Can Be Sinful
Romans 1:25a "Who changed the truth of God into a lie."
Romans 1:32 "Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them."
Monday, President Obama promised LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender) supporters at a White House "gay pride" celebration that he "will continue to be an ally and a champion" for their agenda, vowing he will repeal the Defense of Marriage Act and the military's "don't ask, don't tell" policy. This came at the end of a month that he has formally declared as "Gay Pride Month." In his talk to the LGBT group, the President said, "many Americans still disapprove of homosexuality. There are still fellow citizens, perhaps neighbors or even family members and loved ones, who still hold fast to worn arguments and old attitudes." Yes Mr President, those people holding fast to worn arguments and old attitudes, they would be called Christians under previous administrations. This is definitely "change."
When else has our President openly played a host to sin? In administrations past, sin was entertained by Presidents in secret, only to be discovered and then ridiculed. Today, the leader of our country, who admits to be a believer in Jesus Christ, not only advocates for the sin of others, but goes further in stating that he will change the definition that God has given to marriage for those of us living in this country, by repealing the Defense of Marriage Act.
Many Christians are outraged by these acts, but you would hardly know it, because the mainstream media makes its best effort to cast this as just another decision. It's not just another decision. It's a violation of God's plan and direction for mankind and the President is wrong. Who will tell the emperor that he has no clothes? He promotes Gay Pride Month and host their leadership and he didn't feel it important enough to acknowledge the National Day of Prayer with any particular ceremony. Serious change.
Change can be sinful and this time it is. This is not acceptable and believers should not stand idly by while the truth of God's word is changed into a lie. Today, pray, serve and commit to uphold the truth that God has established for all mankind. If we don't, who will?
