Subject:  Living Beyond The Dash

Psalm 16:11 "Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore."

Today marks my 46th birthday and as my wife hears me whine about most every day, I don't seem to have enough time to do everything that I want to do.  However it always seems that whatever I'm doing is satisfying.  I was thinking that maybe that's how a "full" life should be.  See I have this idea that one day, I'll get everything done and then I'll "rest."  That's what we call death isn't it?

God knows the number of our days.  While we may have the best plans for our lives of our own design, the only think we can do is live before Him if we are to be contented in whatever we're doing.  The best thing about that is that when we do that, the pleasures are eternal.

Today you make think that you're simply "living in the dash," from your birth day until your death day, but in reality, in Christ Jesus, my tombstone should say 1962 -

We live beyond the dash, forever.
