Subject:  Carrying The Boss's Message

1 John 2:27 - "But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him."

My boss suddenly received word two days ago that he was to take a trip to Iraq.  As a result of that trip, he leaves behind many of his duties in the office which someone has to pick up, such as a presentation he was to give at a conference in New Mexico.  As I was reviewing the briefing that he had already put together, I wasn't quite sure exactly what he was trying to say in a lot of places in the brief, so I went to him to find out.

One of the problems for many preachers, pastors, and laymen and women of today is that instead of going to "The Boss" to get His message to "brief" to the world, they're giving their own message.  Most of the information that was in my boss's brief, I knew something about.  However, what I knew about it was only from my thinking and my viewpoint.  What I needed was the author's viewpoint on the brief.  After all, he is in charge of our entire office, so if I'm working in the office, anything I say should support that direction.  Likewise, we as Christians need to find out exactly what our boss is saying and not what we "think" He is saying.

While we learn much from the teaching we receive in and outside of church, in the end, God Himself, through His Holy Spirit, must show us what "the truth" is.

So today, go in the name and power of God and remember it's not your message, but it's the Boss's message that you carry.
