Subject:  We've Got Too Many Of  Those

Exodus 1:16 "And he said, When ye do the office of a midwife to the Hebrew women, and see them upon the stools; if it be a son, then ye shall kill him: but if it be a daughter, then she shall live."

I found this an incredible statement made by a sitting Supreme Court Justice the other day.  Justice Ginsburg in an interview with the New York Times made the following statement: "Frankly I had thought that at the time Roe was decided, there was concern about population growth and particularly growth in populations that we don’t want to have too many of."  I read that quite a few times to ensure she said what I actually read.  "Populations that we don't want too many of?"  What population is that?

You know the only thing I can think of when I hear a statement like that is Pharaoh and his concern about the ever-increasing number of the children of Israel while they were enslaved in Egypt.  Of course Hitler and ethnic cleansing in the 20th century also comes to mind, but I still find it  hard to believe that she said that.  You can review the statement in this article: http://www.nytimes.com/2009/07/12/magazine/12ginsburg-t.html?_r=1&pagewanted=4&ref=magazine

We need to understand that God is responsible for population growth and that has never been a responsibility of the government although many pro-abortion types would have you believe it's okay.  We never "have too many of a certain segment of our population," unless you're talking about sinners and God has a way of doing away with them on His time schedule.  He either saves them or they are destroyed.

Today pray for Justice Ginsburg that she would see that we are all valuable and loved and there are not too many of any of us.  If God created us, we're all significant to Him and that's what really matters.
