Subject:  Sometimes I'm Just A Messenger

Proverbs 25:13 - "As the cold of snow in the time of harvest, so is a faithful messenger to them that send him: for he refresheth the soul of his masters."

Let me tell you what is strange.  I'll work for a day on a devotional and I'll think its the best thing I've ever done.  I'll email individuals to see if they've read my masterpiece and I'll prod glowing remarks out of the people that I know read them daily.  Then I'll pat myself on the back for another "good one."  A few days, a week or a month will pass by and while I'm still gloating over the phenomenal devotional that I did some time back, someone will remark, "it was okay, but this one is really cool."  And the really cool one will be one that I spent 5 minutes on and tried to get done on my way to the airport.  Go figure.  How does it all work?

Well the bottom line is that all that God gives me is not for me.   Often God is simply using us to deliver a message, well He's always doing that but sometimes when He does it, it isn't applicable for us on a personal level.  God sends words and messages to touch us all exactly where we are in life.  God is the only one who knows exactly what we're feeling and why.  That's why He can take a simple "good morning" said at the right time in the right place to the right person and bring someone to salvation.

As the verse says, I pray that I can refresh the readers with a message from God.  Since I am not omniscient and don't know what everyone is going through, I'll just leave that part up to Him.  For those who enjoy, thank God for His message because if it's really good, I must've done very little on it.
