Subject:  If It Be So

Daniel 3:17 "If it be so, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and he will deliver us out of thine hand, O king."

There is only one person who is omniscient and that is The LORD our God.  For the rest of us, we have to wait in faith for many things in our lives to come to pass.  That's always the big dilemma I have in my mind when I hear people making certain claims about what God is  or isn't going to do.  Do they really know what He's going to do?  For sure He sometimes lets us know exactly what is or isn't going to happen, but that's not always the case.  Sometimes He just wants us to wait in faith.

That was the case of the Hebrew boys who were getting ready to be thrown in the furnace.  They weren't sure if they would be delivered from the burning fire in that particular instance, but it really didn't matter because they knew something more important than whether or not they would be delivered in that particular instant.  They knew that God "could" whether He did or not.

Think about that in the trials that you face today.  Do you have that attitude about the challenges you're facing?  Do you know that He is able?  Whether He does or not isn't nearly as important as you knowing that He can and the best part of it all is knowing that whatever He does is the best thing to give Himself glory.

So forget about the details of your particular circumstance and remember, "If it be so, He is able to do so, so that we might know that He is able."
