Subject:   Remote Access

Psalms 139:8 - "If I ascend up into heaven, thou art there: if I make my bed in hell, behold, thou art there."

While we were in California last week, I realized that there was two Presidential debates coming on TV.  The programs were to be aired while we were in flight back to Texas.  Suddenly I realized that through our new fiber optic TV/internet set up, I could log online and set my TV to record the program back home.  Pretty nice capability.  It's called remote access.  The ability to reach out and control your TV from anywhere in the world is a powerful new technology and we are seeing more and more of this with our technological advances.

I was thinking about this issue of remote access God.  How does He do remote access?  We need remote access because we are finite and limited in our humanity to be at one place at a time, but when you're omnipresent, as is God, you don't need remote access because you're everywhere at once.

Today if we remember this fact about God, then we can be comforted and we can be secure in knowing that there is nowhere that God is not.  He stands at the ready controlling as He pleases all of our affairs.  "Remote" access may be what we want, but God is "present" access and that's much better.

I must say though, remote access is not new.  God's been doing it for, well  forever.
