Subject:  No Peace With The Devil

Deuteronomy 20:10, 12 "When thou comest nigh unto a city to fight against it, then proclaim peace unto it.  And if it will make no peace with thee, but will make war against thee, then thou shalt besiege it:"

The fight that present-day Israel finds themselves in is a clear picture of our dealings with Satan.  As a matter of fact, God spoke to the Israelites in the old testament with pretty much the same message that country of Israel is using today in defense of their homeland.  Israel has stated many times their desire to live in peace with their neighbors.  However, their neighbors have repeatedly voiced their feelings on the utter destruction of Israel.  So Israel finds itself in this situation, they want peace and their neighbors want them dead.  Those are tough terms to deal with.

These are the same terms we have with Satan in our personal lives.  He is bent on our utter destruction and we simply want peace.  However we need to understand that there is no peace with Satan.  If we think that he is leaving us alone and not trying to harm us, then we are most deceived by the enemy's tactics.

The geography of the country of Israel demonstrates our situation in the world as believers.  Israel, a Jewish state is compassed about on every side by Islamic countries, in most cases, direct enemies.  Within their borders they also have territories that they’ve surrendered in the past in an attempt to bring peace to groups like Hamas, the terrorist organization that continues to fire rockets from the Gaza Strip in the southern part of Israel.  As believers we too are compassed about in this world by enemies of Christ and they are bent on our destruction.

Today we shouldn't make it our goal to be at peace with Satan as he tries to kill us.  We must fight and the weapons of our warfare are not carnal.  There will be no peace with the devil and his demons.  The only question is, are you in the fight?

Carlen
