Subject:   Who Will Govern?

Hebrews 13:17 - "Obey them that have the rule over you, and submit yourselves: for they watch for your souls, as they that must give account, that they may do it with joy, and not with grief: for that is unprofitable for you."

Another Presidential Primary takes place today in New Hampshire.  The candidates continue to vie for the highest office in our country.  Will it be Barack Obama pulling off the upset for the Democratic nomination or will Hillary Clinton stage a comeback?  Everyone watches and anticipates what will happen and it will probably be this way for most of the year until the final election takes place in November.  Everyone waits to see, who will govern.

Without regard to whether a democrat, republican or an independent wins the presidential election, we are required to be in subjection to them.  However, they have a really heavy responsibility to us for they must exercise their position of governing "with joy and not with grief."

Today we need to understand that our ability to submit to authority here always equals our ability to submit to God.  See I've seen the bumper stickers that sometimes hint that our current President is not "my president," but if he has been given that position why is he not?  That's because we don't understand that we are responsible for all of God's authority and therefore we submit to those He has placed in authority.

Today let us not live unto God as unto a man in office for which we have no regard.  God doesn't simply want to be resident, He wants to be President.
