Subject: My List
Proverbs 16:9 - "A man's heart deviseth his way: but the LORD directeth his steps."
Talk about dread, stress and worry. I've been in that state for most of the past weekend, realizing that I finally return to work on Monday morning. The millions of things that I have to do are simply overwhelming my thought processes. I can't even begin to enumerate them right now. As I was having my pity party this morning, I finally lifted up my head enough to say to myself, "you can always pray about it you know." That sounded simple enough. Immediately I began to see the list of things to do as a good thing and a way to see how God can be glorified throughout all of those things on "my list." As I prayed, I realized that it's just "my list."
At the end of today, I will have done one thing, a few things, many things or depending on the circumstances, nothing. Regardless of what I have planned to do, I must realize that God is in control. That fact alone removes much of the anxiety for me concerning all of the things that I need to get done.
Today I pray only that God be glorified in whatever I do today. So today that really long list of items that I was stressing about getting done has been reduced down to one item.
Things to do list for today
1. Glorify God
