Subject: The Message : “In His Name”
“…and thou shalt call his name Yehoshua: for he shall save his people from their sins.”
Occasionally someone asks about my use of the name Yehoshua when referring to Jesus. My calling him Yehoshua is not out of any specific theological reasons, or association with any particular group or denomination. It is primarily out of having come to a personal and particular understanding of the meaning, the message, the purpose and the power of that particular name.
Joseph received a message from the angel of the Lord in a dream. “…saying, Mary shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins. Now all this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying, Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us. Then when Joseph was “raised from sleep did as the angel of the Lord had bidden him, and took unto him his wife: And knew her not till she had brought forth her firstborn son: and he called his name Yehoshua (JESUS). (Mat 1:25 KJV)
Yehoshua means "Yahweh-is-Salvation”
In his name is the name the Father, and the purpose of the Father. In his name is the message of salvation. The message of Salvation is Love, and Yah is Love.
Yah’s message is A Message of Love, and Love is what Christ has called us to do, irregardless of what we call him it is to our calling, that we must be true.
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. (John 3:16 KJV)
