Subject:  Remember What He Said

Acts 2:39 - "For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the LORD our God shall call."

I was listening to a minister's radio broadcast yesterday and he did something interesting which pointed out God's faithfulness.  He had a woman come up to the pulpit.  He told her that she would be better off when she went back to her seat than she was when she first got up and she acknowledged that she understood.  He then began to ask her for things out of her purse and things she had with her.  At first he was asking for small and seemingly insignificant things like a brush and a bracelet and then it got tougher.  He asked her for five dollars and she hesitated and then said, "okay."  Then it got really tough.  He asked for the new engagement ring she was wearing.  She balked and said, "well I can't give you that."

What a story of how we are with God.  The lady simply did what many of us do.  She forgot what the man said to her.  He finally reminded her that he said that she would be better off when she went back to her seat, but she still wasn't willing to part with the ring.  Finally he said to her, "everything you've given to me is mine and I give all of it back to you, plus 50 dollars."

See if we remember the promises of God and how He said that He would take care of us, then we would be more willing to trust Him when He asks for such small things, because in reality, it is all His and if He has said that we would be better off by trusting Him, it has got to be true.

Today, remember what He said.
