Subject: The Power To Change People's Lives
Matthew 5:16 - "Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven."
There's a commercial that runs over the PA system while I'm working out each day in the gym. The commercial is soliciting people to join the 24 Hour Fitness team. In it, they state, "we have the power to change people's lives forever and not many people can say that about their jobs." Every time I hear that commercial I think to myself, "well I have that power, as a teacher, as a Marine, as a fitness guy, as a whatever else I do." Then one day I thought to myself, your job or profession doesn't really determine your ability to changes people's lives. What determines that is how much you are following Christ.
Believer's have the power to change people's lives when they let their "light so shine before men" as the verse above says. When we are doing the work that God wants us to do, then He is glorified and He then makes the change that those who see the light need. However the key is that we must keep our lights shining brightly.
Today, know that you have the power to change people's lives forever. And when we say forever, we're not just talking about this forever. We're talking about His forever and that's a mighty long time.
