Subject:  It's Cold And...

Proverbs 20:4 - "The sluggard will not plow by reason of the cold; therefore shall he beg in harvest, and have nothing."

Southeast Texas winters have really made us soft here in the Houston area.  With the specter of snow flurries and sub-freezing temperatures, stores closed and some school districts cancelled classes.  As I ventured out to the gym this morning, I realized, well it's just cold.  Sometimes there are safety reasons for cancelling plans, but sometimes it's just a convenient excuse.

The scripture above talks about the kind of person that looks for excuses for not doing what they should be doing.  It calls them a sluggard.  A sluggard is a habitually lazy person.  Someone who doesn't look for work and who always looks for a reason not to is a sluggard.

Today in Houston, it's cold.  So what?  It's a great day to work and the harvest is coming.  The work we do now will yield its results then.  Don't let the weather stop you from being blessed.
