Subject:  Beyond The Ultimate

1 Corinthians 15:57 "But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ."

Personally, I was pulling for the Oklahoma Sooners in the National Championship Football game last week, but as a believer in the Lord Jesus Christ, you just have to put personal feelings aside when you see a committed Christian like Tim Tebow doing well and giving his all.  His fervor and motivation for the things of Christ are evidenced by, not only his tough play on the field, but by his Christ-like attitude on an off of the football field.

Tim Tebow spends a lot of time in ministry work, be it in the Philippines helping the poor or in prison ministry here in the U.S.  He is a believer who not only talks the talk, but walks the walk.  Recently he was asked to evaluate what it felt like to win his second National Championship in three years.  His response was basically that a championship is nice, but there is something beyond all he accomplishes here on earth.

In today's culture where many see Super Bowls and Championships as the pinnacle of success, it's refreshing to see someone who understands where the ultimate victory is.  That victory can only be found in Jesus Christ.

Today, pray for Tim Tebow and other Christians in the public spotlight that they may be blessed in their preaching, even as they are reaching--out to a world that needs to hear about what it means to really win in this life.
