Subject:  A Higher Grade Of Sinner

1 Timothy 1:15 - "This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief."

I drive by this one particular billboard on my way to school each day.  It says, "Executive Adult Video Store."  To me that should read "special sinners video store."  Why are some people so proud of their sin?  I think it's because that's what Satan and this world wants; to make you proud of things that are against what God has planned for you.  The same thing happens in many workplaces on Monday morning as coworkers detail their sordid weekend often bragging about how "blasted" (drunk) they got over the weekend or their inappropriate affairs with some man or woman.

If you're working for a company, it's not enough to be an employee, you must aspire to be on the Executive level of that company.  That shows progress and achievement.  However, in the world of sin, to be an executive is like Paul said, to be "chief sinner."  Paul says that he was really ignorant when he was doing all that he was doing, thinking himself to be righteous and good as he achieved and moved up beyond his peers.  He was definitely Executive material.  However, he realized that it was all sin before God.

Today, don't let the world convince you that your sin is better because you have a special title for it.  In reality, you're just a higher grade sinner and to God you're just a sinner.
