Subject: Sinners Are All Around
Romans 3:23 - "For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;"
In bible study a couple of weeks ago, someone made the point that sin is everywhere and that it's all around us. I believe that the person was trying to illustrate the point that we must be vigilant to guard against this thing called sin. However, the person made it seem like it's hiding behind every bush and around every corner. While sin is in fact pervasive in our world, I think it's important that we make the distinction between sin and between sinners. See without sinners, there is no sin. Sin is a verb, an action word, but in order for that action to happen, you need someone to carry out the action. That's where we come in.
As the scripture says, "all have sinned." That's why sin is everywhere because we all have the the ability to carry out the action of sin and as I write this, I could be doing it along with the other 6 billion people in our world. So it's true that sin is all around but not because it's hovering over the earth like a mist. Sin is all around simply because sinners are all around and that's why we need a Savior. Praise God He sent one in His Son.
Today lets remove some of that sin in this world by removing some of the sinners. Accept the righteousness of Christ and see that sin removed.
