Subject:   Super Believers

2 Corinthians 12:11 - "I have become a fool. You forced me to be one. You should have recommended me to others. Even if I'm nothing, I wasn't inferior in any way to your super-apostles."

The word "super" has been used more in the last two weeks than it will be used for the rest of this year I'm sure.  The "Super" Bowl, "Super" Tuesday and various spin-offs like "Super" Sunday at church and "Super" parties around the country.  There is a project in this area to feed the homeless called the "Souper" Bowl.  So with all of this talk about "super," I thought, "I wonder if the bible ever uses that term.  Of course I didn't expect to find it in the KJV but I found it in the God's Word version scripture above.  It's used by Paul as he refers to the other apostles.  It must be something special to be called "super" in reference to our Christianity.

The dictionary defines super as follows:

1 ' a very high grade or quality '

2 very large or powerful

3 ' exhibiting the characteristics of its type to an extreme or excessive degree '

What's it like to be a "Super" believer? Does it mean that we have a higher quality of life?  Maybe it means that we have much power.  Could it be that we believe God to an extreme or excessive degree?  Perhaps it should be that way.

Today think about whether or not you could be defined as a 'Super' believer.  We know that Christ is 'Super,' but as believers, if we aren't seeking Him, we might be in the game, but we won't even make the playoffs.  Lets be Super Believers.
