Subject: Forgiveness
Matthew 6:14 - "For if you forgive men when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you."
Forgiveness is hard to do when it directly affects you. An example is of someone has been unfaithful to you, or a close friend has lied to you and caused you to lose your job. Another real world example is if someone crashes a plane into a building and kills your loved one. Times like these cause us to feel that the injustice done is so horrific that it is beyond forgiveness, leading us to take revenge on those who wronged us. Revenge is as great a sin as the sin that was committed against us. As Christians, when we find it hard to forgive others, we need to examine ourselves and if we are brave enough, look deep down into our private thoughts and personal secrets. Not to weigh them against other sins, but to realize our imperfections make us no better than anyone else.
We are very fortunate to have a God who is loving and forgiving. for all of us have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. He has made it possible through the shedding of the blood of His Son for us to be forgiven of all of our sins. If God can sacrifice His Son, we can sacrifice our pride.
My prayer is that whoever reads this email will forgive the person or people in their lives that they find hard to forgive.
Have a blessed day.
Your Brother In Christ,
Carey
