Subject: Right Attitude

Psalm 126:6 - "He that goeth forth and weepeth, bearing precious seed, doubtless shall come again rejoicing and bringing sheaves with him."

What has you upset, depressed, worried or crying today?  How are you responding to it?  Every trial produces seed that is sown into our lives.  If we react to circumstances or situations with anger or hatred, then that type of seed is sown.

The key is to ensure that through our trials, we are sowing the "precious" seed.  What is the precious seed?  I think it could be a number of things, e.g. love, peace, encouragement and other things, but the major seed to sow is the seed of faith.  We sow precious seed as we "wait" on a faithful God to deliver us from our sorrow, situation and circumstances.  It is indeed the evidence of things not seen, but it will be seen when God delivers that thing that you have been trusting Him for and you will rejoice because you now have the produce (sheaves) of the seed.

Our alternative is to sow seeds of doubt, fear, discouragement, depression, anger and the like.  If allowed to grow in our lives, these seeds produce weeds which ultimately choke out any precious seed that has been sown.

So how do we sow the good seed and not the bad.  Look at who God is and what He has done and can do.  Begin to live in His faith and not your own.  The KJV of Gal 2:20 says "...the life I now live, I live by the faith of the Son of God..."  What if we exchanged our faith for His?  Maybe that's why we were crucified with Him after all so that we wouldn't have to live our lives but we can live His.

In summary, it's not enough to simply "go through" hard times or sufferings; we must go through them with the right attitude and actions to reap the sheaves of the precious seed.
